In a group of 3, students are required to design a small sport's info-equipment shelter for Taylorians by applying ideas of environmental sustainability in architectural design, which responded to the basic natural context such as the sun, wind, heat, cold, energy issue and the existing context. The structure should provide both a shelter and suitable environment for users.
The site was located at the Taylor's university Sport Facilities Area, we were required to design a shelter with the volume of 45 m³ . The main purpose of this shelter is to provide a shelter for students waiting to use the facilities and providing info on sporting events and activities. Besides that, a minimal area for storage and services was considered into design.
From this project , i have learnt
- Identify and analyze environmental qualities and contextual needs of a site
- Apply ideas of environmental sustainability in architectural design, which the knowledge gained from precedent studies and ESD
- Employ particular material and construction technique
